Poetry: Judgement Day!

JUDGEMENT DAY!


Will there be a day of, ‘Judgement?’
When you finally pass away?
Will there be some, ‘Holy Record?’
Of the deeds you’ve done each day?
What is it that you think they’ll do?
When you reach those, ‘Pearly Gates?’
Perhaps tell you to, “Hang on a tic!”
“Till we check out certain dates?”
Looking back now on your life.
Do you think you’ll past the test?
Will you come up all shiny clean?
Will the balance be more, or less?
So now your getting a little worried?
Your thinking backwards through your life?
Trying to remember all your good deeds?
And those where you caused all the strife!
What about your fellow man?
Have you given to those in need?
Or has your philosophy in life been,
No! Because of your selfish greed?
Hey, you better do a proper balance check?
To see if you’re well and truly in the black?
Because if red is your main colour my friend?
It’s just too late then, to turn back!
