It’s Time Now For That Kiss!


Please darling. Put your arms around me.
Please. Hug me and hold me really tight!
Death stands waiting at the foot of the bed.
I’m not going to make it through this night!
Please. I don’t want to die and leave you.
I don't want to leave everything that I know.
I’m really truly scared of dying.
Although this terrible pain I’ve got will go.
I wish I still had some strength left to fight it.
But it’s worn me right down to this.
Darling, when the time does finally come.
Please. Help me face it with your kiss.
Tell the children that I really loved them.
And I’ll always be there at their side.
Explain that Daddy just had no choice.
Because from Death we cannot hide!
Do you think it’s true we go to heaven?
I pray to God that this is not some lie.
Because I want to be there waiting for you.
When the day finally comes for you to die.
I don’t think it will be very long now.
I can no longer stand this terrible pain!
I can feel the fingers of Death are tugging at me.
Pulling me ever onwards, with it’s rein!
Quick! Hold me really tight and hug me.
Help me please. To get through this.
Please remember I loved you all so very dearly.
Please darling. It’s time now for that kiss.....
