Adam and Eve

When Man was first put on this earth; in the very beginning.
There was no Devil to entice him, therefore there was no sinning.
Then the Creator made him a mate; a figure in female form.
And together in the Garden of Eden, innocence was the norm.

The Creator’s only strict rule was; they were not to eat a certain fruit.
And that the results if eating such, they would not find very cute.
Adam and Eve were happy to obey this one easy simple request.
So they never ate from this particular tree; only partaking from the rest.

Then one day the Devil came to see what the Creator had done.
He saw the innocence of Adam and Eve and decided to have some fun.
He changed his appearance into a snake; then curled up in a tree.
Forbidden Fruit hung from its branches he was very pleased to see.

When Adam and Eve came close, he hissed, “This fruit is the very best!
The Creator doesn’t want you to eat it, because it’s better than the rest.
He is just keeping all this tasty fruit himself and doesn’t want to share.
That’s why he went to the trouble of saying; of this fruit you must beware.”

Now Adam and Eve being very innocent were easily led astray.
They took some of the Forbidden Fruit and ate it on that terrible fateful day!
Then suddenly they realised their nakedness; each covering themselves with a leaf.
And the Devil laughed out loud; having taken their innocence like a thief!

Then when the Creator returned; seeing their nakedness was covered so.
He knew at once they’d eaten Forbidden Fruit and told them both to go!
“Get thee out of this garden and fend for yourself from this day hence!
You committed the first serious sin when you committed this offense!”

So that is how sin began; with the Devil tempting Adam and Eve.
He still tempts most of us today with many sly tricks up his sleeve.
So you need to keep alert to his very cunning and devious ways.
Don’t take of Forbidden Fruit and never believe what the Devil says!
